I do like the simplistic style. To give a more indepth review id have to know the tone you were going for or the tone of the comic itself. However I wish you the best with your series!

BaconBob9000 responds:

For the tone I’m mostly going for a action adventure theme mixed with intrigue

Im a sucker for cell shading a sharp lines of varying line weight. Absolutely fantastically rendered and I am now following you. Great work!

StevSteelEn responds:

Thanks so much!!

I absolutely love the texture on the colors here and I cant tell if its digital or traditionally made, but your use of varying line weight (which is a very underrated skill) and shading makes this a professional piece. Fantastic work! I'd love to see your future work.

MeltyCat responds:

Oh gosh, thank you!

For the record, it's mixed media. I sketched it out in graphite first, lined it with finalises, added shading and the coloured it digitally.

Your facial expressions and style is very clean and easy to understand. I can see that you dont use aliasing on your lines as they look a bit sharp and pixelated. I would recommend using a software like Krita (free) and enable even some slight aliasing to smooth out the lines, and to make your images on larger canvases to make help the smoothing even more. Keep on refining your style and consider playing with shading more to make your art pop out more. Good work! [Edit after response] ah ok that's cool then. In that case a larger canvas size would help it look even sharper.

Mitchika responds:

Anti aliasing is an option in my art program, I turned it off because I don't like it. I want the sharp, clean pixels

I dont know this character but I think the shading is done pretty well as well as the color choices complement each other. The pressing of the skin on the pants is ok and tells me the picture is meant to be silly and exaggerated as that would probably be very uncomfortable to wear. I would know, I'm dummy thicc as well. Good work!
Just an fyi when I rate something I use the little tank man face to help guide what I should rate it, so it's a mixture of if I'm into the piece and then the quality of the piece itself.

Thank you very much for the Review!

The design is pretty simple and clean and conveys the character is slimy. I would recomment looking for a blood spatter brush in future works if the red on the top picture is supposed to be blood. Nice work!

Levi0nL1ne responds:

Thanks for the advice! :)

Looks very clean and easy to read. Perspective looks great, in fact I can't tell if you 3d modeled this, or used a 3D model base and drew over it. I believe it's 3D because the aliasing on the edges looks too perfect to be hand drawn and the soft shading looks similar to clip studios 3D default settings. Either way, I appreciate nice clean art.

NockeyNoo responds:

i drew it, u might think it looks like 3d becoz i use anti-aliases line and i shading that way tho, did u notice that mouth line? i have no idea how do i shading it. I just learn 3 point perspective, but i still think the result is inaccurate becoz the shoes or legs looks off
anyway, thankies for comment'n rating

I appreciate the detail you put into every aspect of this piece. The glowing outlines behind the two KH characters help make their poses more easily readable considering the background is quite dark and could have blended in with their cloaks otherwise. Detail is a great expression of dedication to a piece, but I feel that in an action scene, where you choose to put detail can help guide a viewers eyes through the canvas. The weapon swing trails look nice and are accurate to how they appear in game but it's a bit distracting and makes the center of the image look too busy. Again I understand it's an action scene so it should be busy but I would recommend in a future work is to consider playing with blur to help define focal points of your work, such as possibly the characters themselves, points of impact, important scenery. I'm a bit rusty at this reviewing stuff so hopefully there is something you can use from what I wrote.

Huge fan of shovel knight, and the scan lines really add to the aesthetic. Great work!

SuperAxDs responds:

Thank you so much! Im really glad you liked it!

I like the energy I feel from this one. It's clear this character is ready to kick some ass. I would recommend trying more hard shadows in some places as I noticed most of your art uses soft shading. It helps define the strength of the light and to tell depth easier if you use hard shadows in the right places. Nice work!

Universe-B-Official responds:

Thanks! :D Ill have to give it a try in my an upcoming piece! I have a good amount of art until then I plan to upload, so the next while my uploads will still have softer shading. Ill give harsher shading a try though!

Its funny cause most of my traditional practice has harsher shadows, but I always find that it makes my digital art flatter. Ill have to figure something out. Thank you again for the advice <3

I might make something eventually. DM's Open. Walk right in if you dare. DM before sending a friend request.
